水石の良さは、自然石を楽しむ部分だと思う。 自然石とは、つまり川や山で採れた石を、そのまま楽しむということである。
もちろん付着した砂や土をとって、
キレイにしてあげるのはいい。赤ちゃんを産湯に入れる感覚だろうか。 水盤や台座などで飾りはするが、石そのものは手を加えない。
自然（ありのまま）を尊いものとする思想。 話を少し変えよう。

その結果、大昔では想像もできない 豊かな生活が現在送れている。

今月の表紙の加茂川石。うわーこんな石よく採れたなぁ、という奇跡な石。なんとも計り知れない趣がある。僕はわりとシンプルま形の石が好きなのだけど、ここまで個性があると目を離せない魅力を感じる。ファンタジーな雰囲気がある幻想のような気がする。海上の霧ごしｎ見える島形石だろうか？ いや、遠くに見える浮かぶ山形石だろうか。自分の受け取る気持ちとしては、落ち着きというより「刺激」に近い。

I like stones with simple shapes, but when they have this much individuality, I can't take my eyes off them. It is like an illusion with a fantasy atmosphere.
